Biography
Dr. Stephen Berg, Associate Professor, teaches courses in a number of areas including Physical Education and Health Education. Stephen has teaching experience in the K-12 and post-secondary levels in British Columbia, Alberta, and Nova Scotia and has received numerous awards for excellence in teaching.

Professionally, Dr. Berg is the co-author of three books in the areas of Health Education and Physical Education. He has worked with the NGO’s Right to Play and YFC Rurka Kalan on curriculum development around sport and play and co-authored Physical and Health Education Canada’s elementary school cycling program Guide to Ride for Grades 4-6. Stephen has presented at numerous conferences at the international, national, and provincial levels and has been an invited speaker by the University of Maribor, Slovenia and the University of Auckland, New Zealand.

Community Engagement
Dr. Berg is a reviewer for several journals, notably the Revue phénEPS-PHEnex Journal and Canadian Journal of Education. He has also co-chaired the Physical and Health Education Canada’s Research Council Forum. Beyond academia, Dr. Berg is currently the Executive Director of the Kelowna Kiwanis Music Festival. He is the father of three very active children, loves skiing, golfing, and spending time on Okanagan Lake surfing with his family.
